In a remarkable feat at the global box office, the collaboration of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in ‘Fighter’ has elevated it to the status of the highest-earning Indian film of 2024, amassing an impressive collection of Rs 356 crore.
During its commendable 26-day run in domestic theaters, ‘Fighter’ achieved an outstanding collection of Rs 207 crore nett. The film continued to perform well even on its twenty-seventh day, adding an estimated Rs 70 lakh to its box office earnings. Despite facing stiff competition from the Republic Day release ‘Pathaan’, ‘Fighter’ steadily gained momentum, receiving praise from both critics and trade analysts for its consistent performance. Notably, its fourth-weekend earnings of around Rs 4.5 crore were particularly impressive. While encountering challenges in mass centers, ‘Fighter’ garnered a positive response in multiplexes.

Having crossed the Rs 200 crore mark by its 24th day domestically, ‘Fighter’ also asserted its dominance on the global stage, surpassing its contemporaries to claim the coveted top spot. It outshone films like ‘Hanu-Man’ and ‘Guntur Kaaram’, which collected Rs 312 crore and Rs 267 crore, respectively. Other significant contributors to the year’s cinematic success include ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, and ‘Captain Miller’, with collections of Rs 112 crore and Rs 104.79 crore, respectively.

‘Fighter’ now stands at the forefront of a select group of five Indian films to have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the global box office in 2024. This year’s roster also includes notable entries such as ‘Ayalaan’, ‘Eagle’, ‘Naa Saami Ranga’, ‘Premalu’, and ‘Abraham Ozler’.
Looking ahead, Deepika Padukone is poised to challenge her own record with the forthcoming sci-fi drama ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, where she stars alongside Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. With ‘Fighter’ setting a high benchmark, anticipation is mounting for Deepika’s next major release.
